ABET - ABET Grants
NEW ABET GRANTS FOR THE 2006-2007 FINANCIAL YEAR
The MQA is a Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) in terms of the Skills Development Act of 1998.  In terms of the Act, the SETA Board has the jurisdiction to review all discretionary grants payable to the Sector.  On 27 September 2006, the MQA Board approved the revised ABET grants structure for the 01 April 2006 to 31 March 2007 financial year.  The MQA Board revised the ABET Grant Structure due to high number of applications received by the MQA at the close of the applications process in May 2006.  The applications received exceeded the MQA budget available in terms of the 2005 - 2006 ABET Grant Structure.

In terms of the revised ABET grant structure, the following grant values will apply:

Grant payable to employer upon registration

Grant payable to employer upon completion
